BLACK WIDOW Iggy Azalea f/ Rita Ora (Bordertown remix)
I wasn't digging this at the time of release as I couldn't get into Iggy's style, but this remix brought out the best of the song and it could have charted had I not heard it till well after the song had peaked in popularity.
FADED ZHU (Steve James remix)
I missed this Grammy-nominated dance smash when it peaked in clubs, but this remix (by then 16 year old Steve James, later himself a Grammy nominee for Justin Bieber's Purpose album) brought out the creepy vibe of the song and I still play it a lot.
DID YOU WRONG Sweater Beats f/ MAX
Somehow this song got played to death on my iPod yet it never managed to make my chart, despite the vocals by MAX. I got to see the L.A. producer perform it with MAX in concert in Austin last year.
WICKED GAMES The Weeknd
Even though I owned a copy of The Weeknd's early breakout albums, somehow this haunting song never made my chart. I think perhaps I was more focused on his cover of Michael Jackson's "Dirty Diana" (called "D.D.").
THE PRETENDER Foo Fighters
A fine rocker, I don't think I got into it until well after its popularity had peaked.
TAMBOURINE Eve f/ Swizz Beats
I just don't think I heard this one often enough at the time of release - I caught on to it quite a while after.
HIT ME UP Danny Fernandes f/ Belly & Josh Ramsay
This one's a rollicking Canadian hip hop/rap track with great main vocals by Marianas Trench's Josh Ramsay that somehow never found its way onto my chart. If you don't know, Danny is the brother of fellow Canadian singer Shawn Desman. Awful video IMO though.
HEY GIRL, HEY BOY Chemical Brothers
Hard to believe this came out in 1999, and perhaps it might have been a little too raucous for me, accompanied by its strange, trippy, now-classic video.
I may add to this post as other songs come to mind.
