www.abc.net.au/news/2017-10-17/cd-sales-collection-music/9039860?sf122519532=1I asked some friends this a few days ago, and surprisingly came across this article the following day - spooky! In these days of streaming and such, are you guys keeping your CD collections or offing them and going digital? I just did a huge Spring-clean and am amazed and how much space it has all taken up in my room and I'm considering what to do with it all! I love the idea of owning an album that I've worked hard to earn money for and supporting an artist I really like in the original way, but I hear that streaming is even WORSE of a deal for the artist (unless they get like millions of streams or something). I used to also have a collection of cassettes (remember those?? ) but I have no idea where those are these days, so I'm wondering if I should go the same way as the cassettes did with my CD's and not have anything physical anymore. This article is about the resurgence of vinyl! I think vinyl was only a thing when I was very little, and now it's made a comeback? I'm not sure if I agree with that, as none of my friends personally are going out and buying vinyl (as far as I know) but hey it's kinda cool. But that's even more physical space! Do you like the idea of a continuing CD (or vinyl) collection and needing to renovate the house to hold them all? Or do you like the idea of the future of music and everything being digitally available at the touch of a button? Or maybe a bit of both? Just wondering everyone's thoughts

I still collect and I keep all my stuff. However, I am going to do some cleaning next year when I work on The Photo Album - a miniseries on The Book Club where I spotlight albums in my collection that I haven't listened to. Yes I just advertised my show but I don't care.

I'm a collector so I keep all of my CD's and LP's. They're also helpful in case of a computer crash so I can retrieve my songs from a physical copy, and of course, great to listen to in their own right.
