Just wondering here.
As you may know, "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz is my most hated song ever - I just found it exceedingly boring, and when it became a huge hit, it really earned a lot of scorn from me. So much so that, despite my hate for a lot of rap songs at the time, "I'm Yours" became my most hated song of both 2008 AND 2009, the only song to be my most hated for two years in a row.
However, I'm kinda curious about this myself - what if something else comes around that I end up hating MORE than "I'm Yours"? Is it even possible?
I'll give some points both for an against the possibility:
Why I may hate a song more than "I'm Yours"
Back when it was out, "I'm Yours" was literally, quite possibly, the only non-rap, non-screamo song out at the time that I hated, and overall, the rest of the charts were listenable. However, these days, even some standard pop songs get my scorn at times, and I tend to like even less than half of the pop charts at any given time. So possibly, something out in an era like this could come out, get just as overexposed, and I end up hating it even more.
Why "I'm Yours" could be my most hated song forever
There are several reasons why this could be. One reason why "I'm Yours" was my most hated at the time, and ever, was because it specifically stood out. A lot of the rap and screamo blended together for me, while "I'm Yours" was the only Hot AC-style song that I really hated at the time; and its success, especially on Hot AC (a format that, at the time, I practically liked every other song on), really fueled my hate.
However, these days, a lot of my most hated sound alike, which makes it hard for me to hate one over another. Plus, a lot of my most hated tend to be rap songs that, honestly, I find it a lot easier to avoid, especially when they don't get much pop airplay. So it could be unlikely that one specific, focused hated song stands out as much as "I'm Yours" did back when it was out.
