• Coldplay’s entry for Hymn For The Weekend moves them up to third place as the group with the most charting songs in the ShufflePlay chart history. Hymn becomes their 27th song to make the chart since their first hit Yellow, pushing them past Maroon 5 who have 26. Ahead of them are Dragonette (29) and Tegan and Sara (34). Keep in mind that this record accounts for the overall chart, including non-Top 40 charting hits from when ShufflePlay was formerly a Top 100. Hymn is Coldplay’s 15th Top 40 hit, the sixth most for a group behind Blue October (16), Dixie Chicks (18), Dragonette (20), Maroon 5 (22) and Tegan and Sara (26).
• Hymn also adds to Beyoncé’s chart total, giving her her 20th Top 40 hit. That isn’t enough to place her near the record books for Top 40 hits but it does move her up the overall list as it gives her her 43rd charting song overall (including the Top 100), putting her in a tie with Pink for 7th place. Both Kanye West and with 44 and husband Jay-Z with 45 are just ahead of her with Rihanna (49), Eminem (50), Lady Gaga (63) and Nicki Minaj (76) rounding out the Top 4 Acts with the most chart hits.
• Speaking of Rihanna, her chart numbers increased this week as she earns her 49th overall chart appearance and 37th Top 40 hit as Kiss It Better enters the Top 40 as the highest debut. It also gives Rih the sole record as the Artist with the most Top 40 hits in ShufflePlay history. Before this week, she was tied with Eminem for 36. Rounding out the Top 5 are Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj with 35 and Pink with 31 Top 40 hits.
