She used to dominate my chart way back when. Seeing Stacie so low on this best of list. My reaction is As for Rachel's Fight Song, it's one of my songs of the year even though it didn't get too high on my chart...was top 15 at one point.

Warrant - Life's A Song (#24, 2011) 1802. Theory Of A Deadman featuring Chris Daughtry - By The Way (#6, 2008) 1801. The Max - White Rabbit (#28, 2015)
If this last set is anything to judge, you would think I really, really hate Chris Daughtry, with eight songs in this set (12 of his 20 entries have already shown up here). Like Jess, I liked what he did on "American Idol" (which obviously was the reason why he did so well with his debut album era both on JT40 and on the US airplay and sales charts) and I think he is a talented vocalist, but the songs he and his band put out don't do justice to his rock and roll influences. Perhaps the worst example of this is the misleadingly titled "Long Live Rock & Roll" at #1868, which lyrically expresses nostalgia for classic rock and 90s alternative but musically builds on the almost unlistenable trend of every hot AC artist trying to out-Mumford and Sons Mumford and Sons that we can thank Daughtry's fellow Idol alum Phillip Phillips for thanks to his overplayed and overrated hit "Home". It's hard to believe the song's chorus goes, "Long live big guitars and music full of soul," when the song itself contains neither.
Most of the songs on this set are incredibly dated, playing on some of the worst post-grunge and pop-R&B trends of the last decade, and in the case of Britney Spears' "I Wanna Go", that one summer where every major pop hit had a whistling hook. Others such as Natasha Bedingfield's "Pocketful Of Sunshine" and Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry" are on here obviously for the fact these slices of mediocrity are constantly shoved down my throat whenever I least want them to.
This set includes even more instances of sampling ruining songs, from the poor attempt at a pop breaktrhough "I'm Ready" which uses a sample of Foreigner's "Urgent" that doesn't suit the song at all, and One Direction's "Live While We're Young", which watered down "Should I Stay Or Should I Go". But recycling "Blue" by Eiffel 65 in Flo Rida's "Sugar" was a bit of a head scratcher, though maybe I shouldn't have been too surprised that one unnecessary song was reused in another.
But if songs aren't being sampled, they're being plagiarized and rewritten to be about taking advantage of women. (Still bitter about Cody not inviting me to go with him to the Robin Thicke convention. #houseofrandomness)
COMING UP IN THE NEXT SET: A solo Pussycat Doll crashes out with multiple solo flops, Eurodance galore, more Maroon 5, weak points for several major JT40 artists, and... no Daughtry?

Here in this set is an abundant number of pop and rock artists with songs ranging from the mediocre to the bland to the hot messes. Some of these songs would have worked better with better production or if recorded by someone with a more suitable vocal range. Songs like "Triumphant" by Mariah Carey and "Don't Gotta Go Home" by Monica would have worked better if the featured artists were less prominent in it ("Triumphant" is pretty much half-assed showboating from Rick Ross's Maybach Music Group; Jess charted it because of a dance remix that only used the few vocals Mariah contributed) Some songs here don't work at all, particularly the unintended novelty songs "Pussy" by Rammstein and "Get Sexy" by the Sugababes (the latter being a #1 on the Crunkie chart), Natasha Bedingfield's unnecessarily autotuned "Love Like This" (which was a radio hit because of an equally unnecessary guest contribution from then-flavor of the month Sean Kingston), Cee-Lo Green and Vicci Martinez's cover of "Love Is A Battlefield", Geri Halliwell's solo career, and Nicole Scherzinger's 53 attempts at repeating her short-lived international solo success in the early 2010s. Perhaps this part of the musical past is best left in the past.
COMING UP IN THE NEXT SET: Donut licking! Lesbians! Recycled oldies radio staples! Jeannie Ortega! Papoose! Let it go! Let it go! (and maybe fewer exclamation points.)

Sebastian Bach - Battle With The Bottle (#7, 2008) 1601. Goo Goo Dolls - Real (#15, 2008)
So many of these songs go absolutely nowhere, naming them all would waste my time.
Whoever decided Lisa Marie Presley doing "Dirty Laundry" is a good idea needs to come up with new ideas. And the Earth Wind and Fire remake of "September" as "December" - LAZY. That is all.
Some of these songs made it in for absolutely piss poor lyrics. Sara Bareilles' "Love Song" for me has one of the stupidest opening lines in a pop song (though I cut it a little slack for the Raichu meme), and "Crowded" starts off rough by hyping the Z-list R&B singer and equally Z-list rapper like we're supposed to know who they are (JEANNIE ORTEGA! PAPOOSE!), and as if we didn't know what this was and who was singing it, Papoose reminds us at the end of his verse (CROWDED! PAPOOSE! AND JEANNIE ORTEGA!) Papoose's entire verse sounds like it was written on the fly ("They say you can't have your cake and eat it too ... what's the sense in me having cake if I can't eat it?" and "Since your name is Jeannie, can I make a wish?") There's so many poorly written songs here, I think they should take the advice of "Obsessed" and bathe in Windex.
Like Sebastian Prospero (who notably had two #1 hits on the Crunkie chart), Sebastian Sauerkraut is hit or miss with me. "I'm So Angry" and "#endthefungus" are laugh out loud-worthy smashes. "Stuck EP" did not click well with me at all and I had a hard time getting into it, though I will admit I chuckle at the "Drift And Die" singalong. But "2002 Whore" is one big collage of bad ideas, from the manipulation of "Complicated" to sound like it's from the jazz age to the "angels deserve to die" scream in "Chop Suey" over the instrumental of "A Thousand Miles". It's also guilty of reminding us of the existence of songs like "Hold Me Down" by Tommy Lee (Swear Word to Jess for axing her faves on Rock Star Supernova), "Get Away" by Earshot, "These Are The Days" by O Town, "No Light" by 3rd Strike, "Easy Tonight" by Five For Fighting, and perhaps most randomly, Greece's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2002 by Michalis Rakintzis. That's a list worthy of Jess's annual worst songs of the year list - all that's missing is Miley Cyrus.
COMING UP IN THE NEXT SET: A pair of faceless songs sharing the same faceless beat, a British hip hop song featuring a singer Jess considers as off key as Neil Sedaka, random pop ballads, a slap in the face to Biggie's legacy, Christian music, and Christmas music!

As a Michelle Branch fan, I completely forgot that "Happen To Call" existed. LOL @ the Sebastian Sauerkraut songs

I remember "Happen to Call" As a creator I know how to accept criticism. "2002 Whore" was made to sound bad to a degree, otherwise the irony would be lost.
