Every year there are 2-3 songs which I passed on originally that I wish I had charted. Either it never grew on me or I really didn't like yet. Yet, as time goes by, tastes change, you feel you lost the chance to chart the song(s).
For this year, only one song (in this very weak year of music) Imagine Dragons - "Demons". When it first came out, it didn't grab me at all. Now, I can appreciate it more.
Any songs you missed the boat in charting that you wish you did?

Ths happens to me all of the time, in fact, I even made a list for it on my end of year celebration.
Note: I contained it in a spoiler to save space.
10. V. 3005 - Childish Gambino
V. 3005 was a minor hit on hot 100 this year, and I've considered putting it on my chart many times, however this song barley missed charting, and Childish Gambino has yet to have a song on my chart, however Childish Gambino came close to charting again while being featured on Ariana Grande's Break Your Heart Right Back.
9. You & I (Nobody In The World) - John Legend
After John Legend reached #1 on my chart with All Of Me, You & I (Nobody In The World) was his follow single off of Love In The Future, which came very close to reaching my chart, however, the song didn't preform nearly as well as All Of Me did, but it was a good follow up.
8. Title - Meghan Trainer
After Meghan Trainer's breakout hit All About That Bass which peaked at #20 on my chart, I thought that Dear Future Husband would become the 2nd single, and that reached #6 on my chart. Then after a while I started to think that it was actually Title which was going to be the 2nd single, which made Title almost enter my chart, until Lips Are Movin' was officially announced as the 2nd single of off Meghan Trainer's debut album Title, and has so far reached #5 on my chart.
7. Changing - Sigma ft Paloma Faith
Although I do not live in the U.K. I commonly check the top songs there because a lot of them become hits in the U.S. after a few months crossovers from the U.K. this year include Rather Be, Waves, Hideaway, Latch, Stay High, Ghost, and Stay With Me and those are just a few. Changing was a big hit in the U.K which combined Country and EDM, however, it didn't become a big hit in the U.S. but it almost made its way onto my chart, Nobody To Love also was close to making my chart as well.
6. Money On My Mind - Sam Smith
This song is a definite highlight on Sam Smith's debut album In The Lonely Hour and has come close to charting on my chart, however, it has not gotten onto my chart since I'm Not The Only One became the 2nd single in U.S. which reached #4 on my chart. It followed Sam Smith's debut solo single Stay With Me which reached #3 on my chart.
4. The Man Who Never Lied - Maroon 5 & Sad - Maroon 5 (tie)
Both songs almost appeared on my chart after buying Overexposed in 2014 due to it being on sale on iTunes. Lucky Strike briefly entered the chart, however, The Man Who Never Lied and Sad were most likely about to chart when Maps was released, and I thought it would have been strange to chart those songs since the first single from V was already released. I regret not charting these songs, and they would have ranked very high on my chart.
3. Girls Chase Boys - Ingrid Michaelson
This song was a minor hit on the hot 100, and was very close to reaching my chart, however it never managed my chart, and Ingrid Michaelson has yet to have a song on my chart, however, Be Ok would have probably reached my chart in 2009. I regret not charting this song and it would have probably done well on my chart.
2. By The Grace Of God - Katy Perry
After Roar, Walking On Air, (those 2 songs would have most likely reached the top 10 in 2013) Dark Horse, Birthday, and Legendary Lovers reached the top 10 on my chart, This Is How We Do failed to chart, however the song I regret charting is the ballad By The Grace Of God which never became a single but was easily one of my favorite songs off of Prism.
1. Ain't It Fun - Paramore
Ain't It Fun was the 2nd single off of Paramore's self titled album and the first single Still Into You would have probably made the top 20 or top 30 in 2013, and Ain't It Fun would have probably reached about the same, but for some reason it failed to enter my chart, even with it being Paramore's first top 10 single on the hot 100 it barley missed making my chart, and I very much regret not charting this song.

SOOOOOO MANY! I don't feel like going through them all, but I mean... wow... I missed a lot of songs this year (and the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that...)

"Call On Me" by Eric Prydz comes to mind. I first discovered it in early January 2006 when it appeared on another member's 2005 year-end, and since it DNCed in the US, I hadn't heard it until then. Had I known it at the time, it would have been easily a top 5 for me.

A lot of songs slip by me simply because I don't hear them in time to chart them. Last year, it was Foxes "Let Go For Tonight", which I totally would have peaked fairly high

I'd also like to add all the Audioslave hits (especially I Am The Highway and Like A Stone), Numb by Linkin Park, Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes, pretty much most alt rock songs from 2003-2004.

My current #2 was released in mid-2017. Usually I wouldn't chart something that late but after missing some songs during the 2000's that ended high up of my 'best of the decade', I didn't want to miss charting a potential contender for this decade
