I'm throwing this one in the mix. It sounds like a legit 70s song.

Glad you like it I like the folky stuff that has an edge to it, maybe that's your thing, maybe not. But this is one of the better Triple A hits of this year: This one's still taking off. The spoken word lyrics are off-putting at first but the chorus has that 80s Springsteen vibe. And yes, this is the guy from Marvelous 3 if you're that old. This went top 10 on Active and it's the best song on the chart in years. If this was the first song you heard by them you'd NEVER guess they were an indie band. This is The Cranberries & The Smiths and it has a real new wave sound to it. Maybe a little too out there? Give it a shot and see. And finally, this just came out and sounds just like a 70s disco track. Might be too indie for you, we'll see. That's all for now baby I love you <3

Pipa CourageThe Record Company - Sorry, not a fan. Butch Walker - The chorus is great. The verses... not so much. Kaleo - I think I've heard this one before. It's not bad but I wouldn't chart it. D.A.R.K. - I want to love it because of Dolores but I cannot get into their stuff. Saint Motel - Um... I'm not sure what to think of this. Ryo - Sorry John but classical music isn't my thing.

Just found this, has a real rock chick/old-school meets new-school sound to it.

I can't do video links on my phone, but I'd recommend Gretta Ray - Drive. She won a new talent competition with this song for a radio station and it's a lovely pop song. It's got a '90s feel to me and hopefully you won't find it INDIE!

It scored eight weeks at number one for me and will be top five end of year too. I love it.

@xfer got me into Tori Amos, M! got me into Garbage, billcs and Devyn got me into Nirvana, and kelownaguy20 (welcome back ) sent me albums from Pat Benatar and Hole that made me go from fan to HOLY SHIT THEY'RE AMAZING!!!!11~ This thread was originally for you guys to recommend songs for me to chart, however, I'm going to switch it up a little - still feel free to recommend me songs to chart (PLEASE - I'm stumped as f*ck), but if you guys also have any suggestions of artists I should check out or particular albums, feel free to suggest them here so I could spotlight them on The Book Club! Given the success stories I just mentioned (seriously, I wish I thought of that show idea years ago), I'm sure you guys can help me find my next core artist! To get an idea of the type of stuff I like, see the first post in this thread. Not much has changed since I made that post in 2013, except I've become a little more open-minded with the indie stuff and Bruno Mars would make a better example of new pop that I actually like rather than Demi Lovato, and Lady Gaga's back on my good side (still have no clue what she was thinking with ARTPOP). But once again, that is just a guide, I will listen to EVERYTHING that is recommended to me.

Let me try it once more. Kids by Grace Mitchell could be a good addition to your chart.

After the success I had with Gretta Ray, I'm now going to recommend Amy Shark - Adore. I've been enjoying it a lot the last few weeks and it's similar to Drive, although possibly a bit more indie. Hopefully not too much though.
