I could be wrong but,5 polls so far and the only female musician is Meg White? Really? You're forgetting what a sausagefest this chart was for most of the last decade.

Since 2000, only The White Stripes ("Seven Nation Army" and "Icky Thump") with Meg White on drums, Neon Trees ("Animal") with Elaine Bradley on drums, Gotye Ft. Kimbra ("Somebody That I Used To Know"), Fun Ft. Janelle Monae ("We Are Young"), Grouplove ("Tongue Tied") with Hannah Hooper on vocals, Of Monsters and Men ("Little Talks") with Nanna Bryndis Hilmarsdottir on guitar/vocals, and Lorde ("Royals") have been #1s with females on the songs.

At least there's been some (little) progress since the early 2000's. (I wasn't wrong though, everyone in addition to Meg White charted after 2000-2004. )

Although if it's any consolation because I know you like Evanescence, "Bring Me To Life" was a #2 on Mediabase alt but a strong #1 on Billboard Alt in 2003.

Halestorm are considered a "cock rock" band and to me the "cock rock" subgenre is not real rock music, it has lyrics full of stupid rock and roll stereotypes and to me it feels more like a parody of rock. Kind of like Spinal Tap except not funny. I know many people disagree with me and if you like cock rock & Halestorm, that's cool go nuts , but to me it's not real rock.

I sort of see what you mean and I can understand why you wouldn't be a fan, but in Halestorm's defense, Lzzy is a competent front woman who can actually sing and play an instrument.

I have to echo Scott's sentiments. Sure, "I Get Off" was pure cock-rock, but their last album had some great songs that made them one of the few bands of their type to get hits on my chart. I guess what I'm trying to say is they come across as a parody of a rock band but they have more talent underneath than that.
