Why is it unfair for a radio format to not play hits by previously or former core artists? lol, I was gonna be like "Oh god, you have no idea what you just got yourself into" But then I realized it was you, and know that you know exactly what you're getting yourself into

Why is it unfair for a radio format to not play hits by previously or former core artists? Because they've had immense bouts of popularity for years, and alternative to just suddenly decide, "I don't want to play them" is complete horse shit. I don't mind seeing a little wear and tear each era, but huge drops, like most that we've seen this era, are unforgiveable. If the new Jimmy Eat World had peaked at, say #6 or #10, then I wouldn't be as mad. But for them to suddenly be treated like crap despite everything they've done is a sham. I'll raise you your own question - Why is it fair for a radio format to not play hits by previously or former core artists?

Yeah, well F*ck change, it can go and give me a deep throat for all I care. When you're 18. f*ck 18. But back to the topic on point, it's so frustrating to see all these bands you've loved as a kid get f*cked over by the format for no good reason.

And in order for your favorite 2000s bands to emerge, Alternative had to ditch Goo Goo Dolls, Everclear, Soul Asylum, Third Eye Blind, Sugar Ray, Counting Crows, Matchbox Twenty, Smash Mouth... basically everything that made the format more than angsty grown men.

They would have, but they wouldn't have stayed around forever, just like the bands I listed haven't.
