Shania, Linkin Park, No Doubt, Lady Gaga, Enrique!, Mariah and Janet I'm amazed that 'Haunted' from Evanescence didn't make the list I'll pretend I didn't see the form of public transport in your list

30. Matchbox TwentyWe just heard from lead singer Rob Thomas a while back, now here he is with his band Matchbox Twenty! I've enjoyed their music ever since they debuted in 1997, and it has certainly shown on my chart, as their legion of top 10 hits demonstrates. Despite all this, as well as Rob's solo #1's, the band actually didn't have a #1 together on my chart until their comeback with "She's So Mean" last year; the "North" album has had an additional two top 20 hits to date as well. - Bent - If You're Gone - Unwell - Bright Lights - She's So Mean 29. EminemI'm not normally known for being a rap fan, but Eminem is one of my favourites for sure. His ways of using humourous disses in his songs, plus rapping about hard times in his childhood and various other sensitive subjects all result in one of the most talented musicians of our generation. Two of his songs reached #1 on my chart; his theme from his film "8 Mile", "Lose Yourself", and the Aerosmith-sampling "Sing For The Moment". His last top 20 hit occurred two years ago, and Slim Shady a.k.a. Marshall Mathers is about due for a return! - The Real Slim Shady - Without Me - Lose Yourself - Sing For The Moment - Mockingbird 28. LifehouseCalifornia pop/rock band Lifehouse took the world by storm in 2001 with their debut single "Hanging By A Moment", and certainly haven't looked back since. Since then, they've accumulated a streak of hits, including 2005's monster hit "You And Me", and have mostly been a regular on Hot AC. However, despite all this, they didn't top my chart until 2009's "Halfway Gone", and repeated the feat with "All In" the following year. Their most recent top 10, a duet with Natasha Bedingfield, made my top 10 late last year. - Hanging By A Moment - You And Me - First Time - Halfway Gone - All In 27. U2Irish rockers U2 have always been ones to support their political causes, and it shows in their lyrics over the years. While many of their great hits were from the 80's and 90's, they've stayed strong well after this, as shown by their success on my chart, as three of their singles reached #1. Their tours continue to sell out worldwide, and they're also due for a new album anytime soon! - Sweetest Thing - Beautiful Day - Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of - Vertigo - Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own 26. Bon JoviAnother truly legendary band appears at #26 - New Jersey's own Bon Jovi. They also had the peak of their popularity in the 80's and 90's, but ever since their 2000 comeback with "It's My Life", have steadily been delivering even more hits, including two #1's on my chart. Further proving their much-deserved longevity, their most recent top 10 hit, "Because We Can", was just earlier this year! 30 years in and they just can't stop, it seems! - It's My Life - Misunderstood - Have A Nice Day - We Weren't Born To Follow - Because We Can 25. NellyNelly put his hometown of St. Louis on the hip-hop map upon his debut in 2000, when he quickly became one of the biggest names in hip-hop. With his pop-friendly rhythms and rhymes, he released hit after hit, including chart-topping duet with Kelly Rowland, "Dilemma". While his peak really was from 2000 to about 2004, he did return with "Just A Dream" in 2010, giving his music appeal for a new generation, and he continues to make my chart to this day. - Country Grammar - Ride Wit Me - Hot In Herre - Dilemma - Just A Dream 24. BeyoncéThere was no doubt that Beyoncé Knowles would be able to become a successful solo star spinning off from Destiny's Child, and if there were any, hearing "Crazy In Love" would have erased them, as it was destined to be a #1 smash, which it did. Her success continued over her next two albums, including another #1, "Irreplaceable". While her latest effort "4" proved to be generally disappointing for me, hopefully she'll get back on track in the future! - Crazy In Love - Naughty Girl - Irreplaceable - If I Were A Boy - Halo 23. Goo Goo DollsStraight out of Buffalo, the Goo Goo Dolls were among the biggest alternative rock bands in the 1990's, but their success was mostly due to their ballads such as "Name" and their ultimate classic "Iris". As my chart started, they remained successful with "Slide" an early chart hit. The 2000's gave them many more hits, finally topping my chart with "Better Days", and in the 2010's they certainly haven't slowed down as they have had four more top 10's this decade, including "Rebel Beat" just recently. - Slide - Black Balloon - Here Is Gone - Better Days - Rebel Beat 22. NickelbackAmong the most polarizing rock bands in recent memory has to be Nickelback! Following their breakthrough with the #1 hit "How You Remind Me", they've just kept on hitting, including #1 hits like "Someday" (which at the time held the record for highest debut ever) and "Savin' Me". Around the middle of the 2000's, I started to get sick of them mostly due to overplay, though their "Dark Horse" album still got two more top 10's. The 2010's haven't been so lucky for them; while lead singer Chad Kroeger recently married Avril Lavigne, their music has generally lacked as their latest album failed to achieve a top 20 on my chart. - How You Remind Me - Someday - Feelin' Way Too Damn Good - Savin' Me - Never Gonna Be Alone 21. Gwen StefaniGwen Stefani manages to outrank her band here at #21! While her main priority is with No Doubt, she did branch off into a solo career, releasing two albums, each of which featured a #1 hit on my chart and several other top 5's. She did feature on a live remake of her husband Gavin Rossdale's band Bush's hit "Glycerine", which they hit with together earlier this year, as well as prominent features on tracks from artists such as Moby and Eve. It's safe to say that she will likely have more hits on my chart, whether solo or with No Doubt! - What You Waiting For? - Hollaback Girl - Cool - The Sweet Escape - 4 In The Morning

20. Alanis MorissetteAlanis Morissette really broke through worldwide in the mid-90's with her critically acclaimed "Jagged Little Pill" album, which remains an all-time favourite of mine. She followed it up with "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie", and my chart covered most of that era. The success continued well into the 2000's and to the present day, with songs like "Hands Clean", "Crazy" and "Receive" topped my chart. - Thank U - Hands Clean - Eight Easy Steps - Crazy - Receive 19. Celine DionSticking with the Canadian theme, Celine Dion ranks as the third highest from my homeland! This is remarkable considering many of her best songs pre-dated my chart, but she's had three English-language studio albums in the 2000's that all contributed greatly to this total, plus two greatest hits packages, a duet with R. Kelly in the early days of my chart, and various French singles as well. Her #1 hits on my chart include the Max Martin-produced "That's The Way It Is" and a cover of Heart's "Alone". - That's The Way It Is - A New Day Has Come - I Drove All Night - Taking Chances - Alone 18. Destiny's ChildWe already heard from Beyoncé, now she is along with the other two members of Destiny's Child! A mainstay of my chart in its early years, they accumulated a total of four #1 hits, including their hit from the movie "Charlie's Angels". All three members have gone on to solo careers since, with Beyoncé of course being the most successful, but time and time again, these three ladies from Houston always seem to reunite whenever the time is right especially as they were childhood friends! - Say My Name - Independent Women - Survivor - Emotion - Lose My Breath 17. Backstreet BoysWhen it comes to successful 90's-00's boybands, it's hard to find ones who had more success than the Backstreet Boys. In 1999, their album "Millennium" set a first-week sales record, and had the distinction of having all four of its hit singles reach #1 on my chart, becoming one of the most successful albums in my chart history. Unlike other boybands, they have never broken up and continue to record; their most recent #1 was 2005's "Incomplete", though they do continue to chart to this day and will release their next album later this year; lead single "In A World Like This" is currently charting. - I Want It That Way - Larger Than Life - Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely - Shape Of My Heart - Drowning 16. Taylor SwiftAmong the best-selling artists of the past few years has been Taylor Swift! The always-heartbroken starlet who sings about being 22 while never ever getting back together with the reason for the teardrops on her guitar that takes her back to December has had her fair share of pop and country hits over the past few years, and her success has been replicated on my chart as well, scoring four #1 hits and several other top 10's. Her career is still very much in her prime, so expect much more success from her... well, as long as she keeps dating other celebrities and breaking up with them so she can write a song about them! - Love Story - You Belong With Me - Mine - We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together - I Knew You Were Trouble

Alanis and Celine are AMAZING!! Cool to see Celine's cover is your fav of hers! "Jagged Little Pill' is simply an ICONIC album. Just wow. I think pretty much everyone in my school had the album Love that "Drowning" is your fav from the BSB! I think it's mine too. Taylor's up so high! She makes damn good tunes Haha, so true! Yup, she can never get into a long-term relationship, hopefully for all of our sakes

^^ Actually, the five songs I listed are just simply in chronological order, not favourite order. 15. MadonnaAt #15 is the legendary icon, Madonna! Since her debut back in the 80's, she's been one of the most popular female singers in the world, and her popularity has extended into my chart era, where she's had four #1's so far. Her success has largely been hit or miss on my chart, but even though her career peaked long before I started a chart, it's still a very impressive showing that she's still been able to bring the hits! - Beautiful Stranger - Music - Don't Tell Me - Die Another Day - Hung Up 14. RihannaAt #14 is one of the most prolific artists on this list, Rihanna! I enjoyed most of her work from her debut in 2005 to about 2009 where she had many top 10's (mostly from the "Good Girl Gone Bad" album, still my favourite from her album-wise), including the #1 hit "Unfaithful", which remains her only chart-topper for me. However, since then, she's been more hit or miss; despite this, she still managed top 10's with "Only Girl (In The World)" and "S&M". I've since become really sick of her due to her constant overexposure and new albums every year, and it's shown for me as much of her recent stuff has either charted low, fallen off very fast, or in some cases, not charted at all. Still, #14 is quite impressive here! - S.O.S. - Unfaithful - Umbrella - Disturbia - Only Girl (In The World) 13. Kylie MinogueAustralian diva Kylie Minogue started back in the 1980's with songs like "The Loco-Motion", but due to her lack of success here since then, it took her comeback in the early 2000's for me to really get into her. "Can't Get You Out Of My Head", her huge comeback hit, was also a #1 for me, spending three weeks there, and becoming one of my top songs of the 2000's. This success was no fluke as she has continued putting out the hits with every album since, and still hitting the top 10 as recently as last year! - Can't Get You Out Of My Head - Love At First Sight - Giving You Up - All The Lovers - Timebomb 12. Nelly FurtadoHere's the second highest Canadian artist on the list - Nelly Furtado broke through in 2001 with her "Whoa Nelly" album, which included two of my top 10 songs that year, "I'm Like A Bird" and "Turn Off The Light", the latter of which was my #1 of the entire year despite peaking at #2 on my chart! She remained a strong force on my chart as her 2006 album "Loose", which teamed her with Timbaland, gave her the biggest success she's ever had, as well as her only #1 on my chart, "Say It Right". While she's been relegated to the bargain bins since (her latest album was a huge worldwide bomb), she still had a top 10 last year teaming up with rapper K'naan, further proving her diversity. - I'm Like A Bird - Turn Off The Lights - Try - Say It Right - All Good Things (Come To An End) 11. Jennifer LopezShe's done it all; originally known as an actress, Jennifer Lopez proved she can sing too with her 1999 album "On The 6", which gave her two #1's on my chart. She proved she was here to stay in the music business, as her 2001 album "J-Lo" gave her another three #1's. By the end of 2002, she had her 6th #1 on my chart... however, her success plummetted afterwards and she pretty much was a constant flop for the rest of the decade. After judging on American Idol, she made a successful comeback, with a formula that her lead singles always feature Pitbull on them. The success spilled over to my chart, where she's finally reached the top 10 again after 9 years without a top 10 hit. Here, however, she just misses the top 10, proving 10 artists did well enough to beat her out! - If You Had My Love - Waiting For Tonight - I'm Real - Ain't It Funny - Jenny From The Block

How did I not know about this thread until now? I was shocked to see that Nickelback ranked so high, considering that I know you have been generally sick of them for about 7 years now. Also, it's great seeing two of my favorite rappers ranking so high. That shows that for all those crappy mid 2000s rap tracks I like, our taste in that genre isn't too different after all. Overall, a great read. I'm looking forward to the top 10, and seeing who the top-ranked Canadian is.

10. Katy PerryAt #10, is a singer who has just taken two albums and five years to get this high! Among pop singers these days, Katy Perry has easily been one of the most successful. She made a huge impact from the beginning, and on my chart it shows too, as seven of her singles so far have reached #1 on my chart. Her catchy melodies and playful image have definitely helped her out, appealing to a diverse set of fans and ensuring a wide appeal for her music. As her career future is still looking very bright, she should have no problems maintaining this success for years to come and expect a few more #1's on my chart as well! - I Kissed A Girl - Hot N Cold - California Gurls - Teenage Dream - Firework 9. Michelle BranchAt #9 is Michelle Branch! As great as I feel many of her songs are, the truth is... she just hasn't been very prolific at all compared to the rest of the acts high up! Indeed, she's only released two solo albums so far, plus some Santana collaborations, an EP featuring tracks from one aborted album, and aside from the Wreckers (who featured down at #78), that's about it! While I did enjoy her debut single "Everywhere" in 2001, it wasn't until she released "All You Wanted" that I became a big fan of hers, and got her "Spirit Room" album as a result. This interest in her peaked during the "Hotel Paper" era, when "Are You Happy Now?" was my #1 song of 2003. She did reach the Hot AC top 20, and #1 on my chart, with "Loud Music" in 2011, which was supposed to give a taste of her return to pop music; however, the "West Coast Time" album still has yet to be released. - All You Wanted - Goodbye To You - Are You Happy Now? - Breathe - Loud Music

8. 3 Doors DownAt #8 is one of the top rock bands in recent years, 3 Doors Down! Hailing from Escatawpa, Mississippi, they took the world by storm in 2000 with their huge hit "Kryptonite", which hit #1 on my chart. Ever since then they have maintained several pop, rock and Hot AC hits, with their peak era being the "Away From The Sun" album being their career peak, giving them two more #1's: "When I'm Gone" and "Here Without You", both of which have endured well. To date, they have had seven #1's on my chart, most recently in 2011. - Kryptonite - When I'm Gone - Here Without You - Let Me Go - It's Not My Time 7. Avril LavigneIt was inevitable - Avril Lavigne is my top Canadian artist of my chart's era! Since debuting in 2002 with the #1 smash "Complicated", she has had 9 #1's on my chart. I personally thought her first two albums were both excellent, and rank among my all-time favourites. However, ever since then, her music has been a lot more inconsistent; despite this, songs like "When You're Gone" (my #1 song of 2007) and "What The Hell" remain favourites of mine. However, as I've got tired of her immature attitude in her music, she's been struggling on my chart lately. Still, having had as much success as she did puts Avril firmly into my top 10 artists of my chart era! - Complicated - I'm With You - My Happy Ending - Nobody's Home - When You're Gone

6. Maroon 5#6 is the highest group in my chart, the entire top 5 is solo females! Maroon 5 first broke through a decade ago with "Harder To Breathe", but it was "This Love" and my #1 song of 2004, "She Will Be Loved" that really grabbed my attention. Over their career so far, they've released four albums and had 11 #1's on my chart, remaining a strong force to be reckoned with on my chart. With lead singer Adam Levine in a high-profile judging position on "The Voice", it's clear that they've managed to last, and hopefully will have many more hits to come! - She Will Be Loved - Wake Up Call - Misery - Moves Like Jagger - Payphone 5. PinkAt #5 is Pink, who makes it this high simply because of how prolific she is! I've never really thought of her as a core artist, but she's had six #1's on my chart from 2001 to 2006. While she hasn't had a #1 since then, she's still a regular presence in my top 10, with two top 10's from her recent album "The Truth About Love", for instance. These days, it seems like the second and third singles from each album are my favourites, and while I don't see her getting four top 10's on an album like she did on "M!ssundaztood", she should still be able to get a top 10 or two each time! - You Make Me Sick - Get The Party Started - Don't Let Me Get Me - Who Knew - U + Ur Hand
