Responsible for the infamous Disco Demolition in July 1979, Chicago DJ Steve Dahl also released this novelty song poking fun at the disco scene and Rod Stewart's #1 song. This one peaked at #58 on the Hot 100 in the fall of 1979.

Ah, yes, one of Dahl's many parody songs! I've lived in the Chicago area all my life and listened to Dahl's morning show back in the day (on the WLUP and later WLS). He did many parodies of old songs, such as:
"Oh Wally" (a parody of "Mandy" by Barry Manilow and about radio personality Wally Phillips) "Heal Me" (a parody of "Call Me" by Blondie, a song about TV evangelist Reverend Angley) "Another Kid In The Crawl" (parody of "Another Brick In The Wall", about serial killer "John Wayne Gacy") "Ayatollah" (Parody of "My Sharona" by the Knack, self-explanatory) "Falklands" (Parody of "Freeze Frame" by J. Geils Band (based on the Falklands war between Argentina and the United Kingdom)
There were lots more, but those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.
