How come it took Alexandra till now to debut on here even though it's been on my chart for three weeks now? crazytowel (who's charting it) gave it the boost when he joined this past week. Yay me You're doing a great job with this btw. I just wish I had the patience and skills. Also great to see 'Womanizer at #1 for so long As much as I love that song, it would be great to see a new number one any time soon Saying that, I don't think it'll be leaving my top 10 for a while!!

Our website is updated at m4bchartscentral.cjb.netI've changed the Globalchart Retro feature after a few years of Top 10's. Each week now, I'll post a different #1 from the past along with the list of songs that debuted that week! This week, we go back to January 1999. What was #1 10 years ago? Chart Observations- I don't even think all the Britney fans on the board could give her a 7th week at #1 with "Womanizer". It's 9 points ahead of "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" by Beyonce (4-2), which leaps over the still-bulleted "Poker Face" by Lady GaGa, which is 23 points behind. Though "Poker" falls a notch, it technically could still be #1 next week, but I think that honour will go to Beyonce.
- Speaking of GaGa, the last time "Just Dance" was in the Top 10, it was the week of October 12. 12 weeks later, the song vaults 13-6 to near its #5 peak, thanks to success in the U.S. and some chartbusting around the rest of the world. With 33 weeks on the chart, it still could go higher!
- Pink gets her 12th Globalchart Top 10 with "Sober" rising 15-8.
- The Fray obtain their 3rd Top 20 Globalchart hit with "You Found Me" climbing 23-17.
- Taylor Swift's "Love Story" gains an impressive 96 points this week and the song challenges for the Top 20, up 27-21.
- Last week, Paramore's "Decode" became their biggest Globalchart hit to date, reaching #18. Since it's still bulleted, it could turnaround and surpass that peak yet.
- All American Rejects make it five-for-five, just when you think "Gives You Hell" might have been done. It rebounds 42-29 - 5 consecutive Top 30 hits!
- Yes indeed, it looks like The Veronicas' "Untouched" will reach the magic 50 week mark in 4 weeks. Thanks to U.S. action, it's back in the Top 40, moving 45-38 in its 46th week.
- Lily Allen continues her success from 2007 with "The Fear" rising 78-48. Also making it look like we're partying like it's 2007: Shiny Toy Guns ("Ghost Town" jumps 79-50) and Killers ("Spaceman" moves up 84-53).
- And now for a numbers game: Most appearances on the current Globalchart - Lil' Wayne with 6. Then we have Beyonce, Kanye West, and T.I. all with 4, and Britney, Rihanna, and Coldplay with 3 apiece.
- A little "Hallelujah" goes a long way. 24 years after Leonard Cohen's original release, Alexandra Burke's UK #1 arrives on the Globalchart at #64.
