God, those are some HORRIBLE debuts this week. Makes me wonder about the future of the globalchart The only ones I like are by Hinder, Seether, Agnes, and PCD (but not as much).

It's just one bad week of debuts, not muchwe can do there. We're getting new contributors who prefer that kind of stuff

Our website is updated at m4bchartscentral.cjb.netOn our home page you'll find the Globalchart Retro feature, which this week looks back on our Top 10 from 5 years ago, the chart of September 29, 2003. I do have Chart Observations this week, but probably won't have time to post them till Thursday.

Chart ObservationsSo, you thought I forgot, eh? Nope - With Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" and "Disturbia" by Rihanna only 3 points apart, and Pink's "So What" a mere 72 points behind "Disturbia" at #3, it seems obvious that Pink should get her first #1 Globalchart hit since August 2002, when "Just Like A Pill" was on top. But of course, Coldplay and Rihanna could stop losing points and hold on tight, or they could reverse positions.
- I'd like to say that Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold" will hold again at #4, and that "Crush" by David Archuleta would move up within the Top 5. But they're likely to be eclipsed by a potential future #1, with M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes" gliding 13-6 on the wings of almost 200 points. Sorry for the bad airplane puns - not!
- We'll see next week if "Keeps Gettin' Better" by Christina Aguilera (14-11) re-ignites - after all, it's only in its third week on the chart, and will definitely be in the Top 10. But where?
- It's nice to see "Just Stand Up" (19-15) not fall down just yet, given its charity.
- "Whatever You Like" by T.I. (29-18) is making big waves on the Globalchart, a mean feat considering 28 year old Clifford Harris Jr. from Atlanta has only ever been in the Globalchart Top 10 once since his first appearance on the chart back in 2003, and that was on the Grammy-winning "My Love" with Justin Timberlake (#2). While "Whatever" is racking up the sales, it may falter at radio now that "Live Your Life" with Rihanna is everywhere. We'll see.
- We arrive at #27, currently the highest song by one Dwayne Carter Jr., aka Lil' Wayne, "Got Money", featuring T-Pain. There are now 7 songs by Mr. Carter on the Globalchart, the most that I can think of, well, since T-Pain became ubiquitous in 2007. I haven't counted exactly, and it would take a lot of time to do so, but this may be the most times one artist has appeared on the Globalchart at once.
- Ne-Yo's long-awaited second single from Year Of The Gentleman is the Fastest Riser within the Top 50. "Miss Independent" rises a snazzy 72-28.
- Sarah McLachlan fans are out in full force as "U Want Me 2" jumps 45-29, her first Top 30 appearance since "World On Fire" in 2004.
- Now that they've got their cover of "Beat It" out of their system, Fall Out Boy are back with the fast rising "I Don't Care" (69-38), which makes two songs with that title in the Top 40 (Apocalyptica's namesake is at #26). It's Fall Out Boy's 9th Globalchart hit.
- And what can one say about all of those high flying debuts?? Kanye West sings and goes mellow, and then gets the highest debut with "Love Lockdown" at #39. The boyz love their swagga as a bevy of rap tunes, all featuring Lil' Wayne, pounce on the Globalchart at #45, #47, and #61. New tunes by Hinder (#57) and Snow Patrol (#62) somehow beat out debuts by AC/DC, Killers and Britney Spears (though to their credit, the last two weren't really available till the middle of last week). And then for the many other tastes of our contributors, they are satisfied with the likes of Simon Collins, Rise Against, Seether, One Block Radius, Rick Ross, Agnes Carlsson, and Pussycat Dolls & Missy Elliott all making their presence felt on the Globalchart this week.
*Am out of breath*

I'm like one of the few that doesn't like Paper Planes. You're not alone, as I don't really like it either.
