5 - 1.
5, NELLY & TIM MCGRAW – Over And Over
Speaking of Tim, he joined up with Nelly is a surprise duet at the beginning of the year. This song defiantly opened doors on both sides of the format. For me, it made me look a lil deeper at Nelly’s music. Even if it was brief visit! I like the song. I love the video.
4, FAITH HILL – Mississippi Girl
Welcome back Faith! Did you ever really leave?? Great song. Wonderful video. She has scored many year end number ones for me 1998 “Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me”; 2000 “The Way You Love Me”; 2001 “If My Heart Had Wings; 2002 “Cry”. #4 is her biggest placing this year. Faith is second only to Olivia with most number one songs of the year.
3, TRISHA YEARWOOD – Georgia Rain
Trisha returned this year with “Georgia Rain” and I fell in love with it. It’s a beautiful song and vocals are Trisha strong! Trisha has had the #3 song of the year twice before with “How Do I Live” and “Believe Me Baby (I Lied). Georgia Rain makes it a hattrick!
2, KELLY CLARKSON – Behind These Hazel Eyes
Truth be told, I never expected Kelly to come out with such quality material, since she was just an “Idol” star, but she proved me wrong and blew me away. Every track Kelly released on her album has hit my number one spot. She is defiantly a pop force to watch in the future.
1, KELLY CLARKSON – SINCE U BEEN GONE
Kelly has done it. She scored the top 2 songs of the year! Plus another one in the top ten to boot! She easily secures the Top Artist of the year for me. This song is the perfect pop record. I can never tire of this song. Go Kelly! 2006!!
