The Canadian airplay charts from Mediabase will be published beginning in the April 16th issue of Radio & Records. As with its competitor, BDS, there will be 5 format charts: AC, CHR, COUNTRY, HOT AC, and ROCK. There will also be a section on songs going for adds.
A recent survey showed that 85% of Canadian radio programmers read R&R each week.
I give Canadian Music Network 6 months, tops. CMN (2001-2004?)

So, will these charts be part of the online Mediabase charts as well? I hope so ;D That would alter the Pop chart a significat amount. Imagine the CHR/Pop chart with Chantal? Never in America... So what if the Canadian charts were included since this time last year? -'Powerless' wouldn't have flopped. -'Slow' wound't have flopped as bad. anyone else?

-'Slow' wound't have flopped as bad. "Slow" flopped in Canada as well. And I believe that the Canadian charts will be on their own Mediabase panels, instead of being merged with the American ones.

"Slow" flopped in Canada as well. Lol...on a program they said "Slow even did well in Canada, just not the US"

Bry is right.
The panels won't be merged.
Even then, the Pop chart wouldn't be altered that much - only 14 reporters. Some of those they wouldn't classify as CHR/Pop anyways.

Wow, this is cool.
I hope CMN will continue on, though. It is a good way to keep up with news about mainstream Canadian artists.

That would alter the Pop chart a significat amount. Imagine the CHR/Pop chart with Chantal? Never in America... Chantal hasn't had a major pop hit (at least i don't think, and it doesn't seem this wat) since prolly "Leaving On A Jet Plane"

You seem to be forgetting 'Before You', 'In This Life' and 'Time', not to mention 'Dear Life' and 'Far Away', all of which peaked higher than 'Jet Plane'.
