Chart Commentary
This is gonna be a brief one... it seems like all I've been doing for the past two days is driving to work in snow...
Will Alicia Keys get her week at #1 with "No One"? It's been held at #2 for 8 weeks. Only now is "Apologize" giving up the ghost, but the song could snag another week at the top.
I'll slide down the chart to give a big YEAH to Adele's "Chasing Pavements" for being the Greatest Gainer in the Top 50, moving 55-33. Then, I'll mention that Good Charlotte's "I Don't Wanna Be In Love (Dance Floor Anthem)" has risen 48-34, which is a new peak for the 30 week old song that was our #98 song of 2007.
The Fastest Riser in the Top 50 is "How Far We've Come" by matchbox twenty (78-44), but it's a bit misleading since a couple of our new contributors are big on it and caused the sudden surge. The 98-71 surge for "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" by Soulja Boy Tell'em, however, is because of recent success overseas with other contributors.
I can't complain about the variety of our many debuts this week, but we're expecting more snow in the a.m. and I have to face more slow driving.....
