M4BCC Exclusive!!
Here are two "sections" I'm adding on to my chart, but they will only be able to be found in my weekly chart threads here on M4BCC...not on my website! ;D There's the Blast From The Past, which I think is pretty self-explanatory...AND the Hot Track Of The Week. Unlike the "Spotlight Song Of The Week," which is posted on my website, the "Hot Track" will spotlight a song that is current ON my Top 50. Fun!!!!
Hot Track Of The Week
MARSHA AMBROSIUS Far Away
The former Floetry singer is back with the second single from her solo debut album, Late Nights, Early Mornings, which is scheduled for a March 1, release date. This girl's got a beautiful voice and the song's a nice, laid-back slow jam.
Blast From The Past:
JOSS STONE Right To Be Wrong
This week's Blast From The Past takes us back to 2005. "Right To Be Wrong" was released from Mind, Body, & Soul, the sophomore album by British Soul singer, Joss Stone. Though it wasn't commercially popular in North America - as has been the case with all five studio albums she's released thus far in her career - it was hands-down one of my favorite songs of that year. Along with other releases from the album ("Spoiled," "Jet Lag," & "Dontcha Wanna Ride"), "Right To Be Wrong" kept me entertained all year long...and beyond. Speaking truthfully, Joss is one of my favorite singers overall. The girl's got an AMAZING voice. When it comes to British blue-eyed Soul singers, Amy Winehouse, Adele, & Duffy seem to get more attention. But to me, Joss has got the best, most purely soulful voice out of all of them. Earlier in her career, Joss was mentored by American Soul singer, Betty Wright. But, beginning with her third album, 2007's Introducing Joss Stone, Joss began to plot her own musical sound and career path. Over the past few years, she's split time between singing and acting, along with legal troubles involving her record label at the time, EMI. Her last album was release was in 2009. Hopefully she'll be back with new material for us soon. A voice like hers shouldn't be silenced for too long.
